Colour Crazy in Clonlisk with 1st, 2nd & 3rd
June is here, time to get the garden looking smart and colourful. We started with our garden table, which was looking a bit tired and drab. Lots of hard work first with some scrubbing and sanding to remove all loose paint. Then the fun could begin. Dressed head to toe in old clothes and armed with lots of sunny colours like beach blue, perfect pink, and lime green, in a matter of hours we transformed the table to a bright, cheerful, summery picnic perfect masterpiece.
We had lots of fun and a few "accidents" resulting in blue hair and coloured noses. To get to some of the tricky spots, the boys and girls had to lie on their backs under the table. We really appreciated how difficult Michael Angelo's job was!
Meanwhile, First Class had a great time planting up our window boxes and front of school flower pots. Clonlisk will be in full bloom shortly.
Update from the Garden:
The spuds are flying it and the strawberries are nearly ready for picking. Junior and Senior Infants brought home some magnificent cabbages and our peas are coming along nicely. We have just recently planted some sunflowers directly into the raised beds and we hope to plant pumpkins in the patch where the cabbages are growing.
