A Visit to the Majestic Grounds of Mount St. Joseph's Abbey
On Friday the 4th of June, the pupils of Clonlisk National School visited the majestic grounds of Mount St. Joseph's Abbey where they walked the 'Prayer Path' & 'Esker Path'. The children thoroughly enjoyed spending time together outside in the fresh air, rolling down hills and marvelling at their beautiful surroundings. The highlight of the day was a tour of the recently restored 'Walled Garden', which Mr. Smyth, Fr. Aodhán & Mr Browne collaborated on with the TY students of Cistercian College Roscrea throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr Smyth explained the key features of the design such as the south facing brick wall, the spire, the wildflower garden, vegetable patch & the symbolism of the three circles. An oak seedling was presented by Fr. Aodhán to Clonlisk National School as a memento of the very special visit. An amazing day was topped off with some delicious ice-cream which was kindly sponsored by the Parents' Association. Bhain gach duine taitneamh agus tairbhe as an lá!
