Wellbeing Week in Clonlisk

Everyone in Clonlisk N.S. thoroughly enjoyed 'Wellbeing Week' which was held last week. A programme of events was organised for all classes throughout the week that promoted positive wellbeing. A healthy, active lifestyle was promoted through our lunchtime 'active breaks', PE lessons, yoga and a fabulous mindful walk in Mount St. Joseph's Abbey on Friday. Throughout the week, SPHE lessons focusing on character strengths, mindfulness, gratitude and kindness were taught. Art activities included friendship bracelet making, the making of mindfulness jars, character strength feather art and mindfulness colouring activities. Members of the Parents' Association prepared delicious fruit platters for all the pupils to enjoy. Siobhán Connolly Hogan (Student of MSc in Applied Positive Psychology) attended the school and carried out a number of workshops that were a real highlight for the pupils. With Siobhán, the children explored the topic of kindness and 'Random Acts of Kindness'.They participated in a guided meditation which the children found very relaxing and calming. Wellbeing Week was a huge hit with everyone in Clonlisk N.S.!
