A Trip to the South Pole .... Inn!

"On the day of my Communion, I went to Annascaul, Co.Kerry, Ireland. I went to see Tom Crean's pub, The South Pole Inn. In the pub, there were lots of pictures and I took a picture of all of them. There was also an axe on the wall that a lady used when trying to follow in Tom Crean's footsteps but she failed to do it. So before she died she gave the pub the axe that she used. Then we went to his grave which was a big tomb. His wife and daughter were buried there too. People left money at his grave. Some people left bracelets. We looked for something to leave and Daddy found a conker bracelet which we put that on his grave. We also went to a garden across the road. There was a big statue of Tom holding his puppies that he had to train. There was also a big stone like a grave stone with a smaller stone on top from Shackleton's grave in South Georgia that was sent to Tom Crean's garden. In return, the people of Ireland sent a stone from Tom Crean's grave to be placed on Shackleton's grave. We had a great day!"
