A Successful Day in Tullamore!

The Clonlisk boys' and girls' soccer teams have qualified for the Spar 5-a-side County Final, which will take place on April 11th 2019 in Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore. Congratulations to all involved!

5-a-side Soccer

8 girls left Clonlisk N.S. at 9.a.m. to travel to Leah Victoria Park Tullamore to take part in a 5-a-side soccer competition. The girls were feeling nervous going into the first match against Ceann Eitigh. As the match went on, the girls felt more confident and the game ended on a scoreline of 6-0. The next match was against Carrig N.S., the girls were nervous as Carrig beat them last year as they were by far the better team. It was a draw match the whole way through this game, and at the last minute the winning goal came for us. After that we played Gortnamona. The Clonlisk girls felt and looked confident going into this game and won on a scoreline of 5-0. Up after that was St. Broughan's N.S. and the girls knew that St. Broughan's had drawn with Carrig N.S. so the girls were very unsure of the outcome. However, they worked hard and they won 4-0. The last game, was a local derby between Clonlisk N.S. and Shinrone N.S.. Both teams had it all to play for because whoever won would progress to the next stage of the competition. The girls worked very hard and the game finished 4-0 in favour of Clonlisk N.S. The girls had a great day and they're both nervous and excited for the County Final which will take place on the 11th of April 2019.
