Junior 'A' Champions Visit Clonlisk!
On the 7th of October, the Shinrone Junior Hurlers played against Tullamore in O'Connor Park in the Junior A Hurling Final. It was a very tight and challenging game. The sliotar was thrown in at 1.30 p.m. Michael Cordial scored a great goal and took the frees. Sean Ormond scored an amazing point and some even say it was the point of the match. When Shinrone won, the players were so happy. They won because their coach Joe Cleary gave up his time and trained them three times a week. Captain Colin O Meara, coach Joe Cleary and the team brought the cup into our school. Joe Cleary asked us questions like, what was the score? He also told us about our relations on the team and how lots of past pupils of Clonlisk played on Offaly teams and won All-Ireland Finals. Joe told us a lot of history and we were all focused on what he was saying. When the team were leaving, they gave us some minerals but we decided that we were going to keep the drinks until Halloween. That was my piece about the Shinrone Juniors' successful weekend.
