FAI 5-A-Side Offaly Finals

Well done to the boys and girls who took part in the Offaly County Final of the SPAR FAI Primary School 5s Programme in Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore, on April 12th. The boys' team topped their group securing qualification for the 'Mid Leinster Finals' which take place in Portlaoise Leisure Centre, on Wednesday, April 25th. The girls' team narrowly missed out on qualification for the next stage of the competition but received silver medals for their valiant performan on the day.

On Thursday 12th of April, 8 girls travelled on a bus to Tullamore to play a County Final. We played Rahan first and that match ended with a scoreline of 4-1. Next we played Geashill and even with a scoreline of 7-1, we still didn't feel confident going into our final game against Carrig. In the Carrig match, we scored the first goal but Carrig came back and scored 3 goals. The final score was 3-2. We had a great day!

The soccer was such an amazing experience. it took place in Tullamore and we played three matches. the first match was against Ballyboy. It was a good game and we won 4-1. The next game against Geashill was very intense. We scraped past with a 5-3 victory. The last match was the most important because if we won we would come first in our group and we did win 5-4. We had such a great time and we are going to the next stage of the competition on the 25th of April. We are all so excited for the occasion.
